Volunteers

What can volunteers do?

Volunteers have long been an important part of Powell House; from converting the original barn into the Anna Curtis Youth Center to creating the labyrinth. Volunteers are needed to advance and strengthen our programs; to help us support people on their journeys; to reach more bodies and hearts; to help make Powell House a model of a sustainable community; to join with others to hone our skills and our purpose.

Many different kinds of volunteer opportunities are available at Powell House; a one day commitment; a longer term volunteer position; unskilled work at Powell House; or even from your home.

Come to one of our low cost twice yearly Work Weekends, one at Easter, our dawning of spring, and one in the beauty of our autumn weather. Meet us there for the first time or revisit us, where you can give back to Powell House a little of what you have gained there.

Skilled labor is often needed. If you are Licensed Plumber or a Licensed Electrician have we got a job for you! A weekend or two of your time during the year could make a lot of difference in the smooth functioning of Powell House.
